The webist Waitrose says: „The relationship between the two officially began in January 2002. Waitrose Partners had launched its own delivery service, but due to our relatively small size, we needed the help of a well-established network like Ocado. Since then, Ocado and waitrose.com have been delivering own-brand products from Waitrose and Partners. An agreement between Waitrose and Partners and Ocado expires in August. „Today, waitrose.com reaches 90% of the UK postcodes and offers free orders of more than $60 and one-hour delivery times.“ The agreement between the two companies will expire at the end of August. The new partnership comes after it was learned earlier this year that Waitrose`s long-standing agreement with e-commerce partner Ocado would not be renewed. And that means that from September 1st, the waitrose.com will be the only site on which you can order Waitrose and Partners products. „Today`s plans are a clear commitment to a rapid change in Waitrose`s capacity and capacity .com as we build a modern, well-invested digital business that is ready for the future,“ said Rob Collins, Waitrose`s Chief Executive Officer. Currently, the grocer`s online service is provided by a combination of branch deliveries and the Coulsdon Fulfillment Center, which opened in 2015, as well as a second warehouse planned for north London. I think that`s interesting, if you look at the latest figures on Waitrose, we`ve certainly seen a significant increase in waitrose demand before the market.
It may be too early to judge, but there is a sense that, in difficult and difficult times, there is a rush to trust. The fact that we are an omni-channel company, and increasingly on the Waitrose side, offers some additional purchases, while we are going into a rather volatile year. „The development of our new customer satisfaction centres will triple our delivery capacity, provide our popular services and delicious food with more customers across the UK, and Waitrose.com on track for $1 billion in revenue.“ M-S will buy a 50% stake in Ocado`s retail business for $750 million. This meant the end of Ocado`s long-standing partnership with Waitrose, which had been renewed. Credit Suisse had also previously stated that Ocado had increased its revenue by two-thirds in September to more than $600 million and that it had forecast revenues of more than $2 billion in 12 months if it continued at this rate under the M-S partnership.
